2 Ways To Set Up The Sound For Your Home Theater System

If you have bought a really fancy TV and have set up a room in your house so that you can have your home theater. The next thing you need to do is to make sure that you have your speakers going. After all, what's a theater system without having sound? So what can you do to make sure that you get the best possible sound out of your home speaker system?

Match Your Speakers

While you may think that a speaker is a speaker and it doesn't matter what kind of speaker you put up as long as you get your sound. However, it really does matter when it comes to your speakers. Each brand of speaker has its own particular quirks and eccentricities and slightly different sound profiles. If you have a lot of speakers up that are all different brands, then you are getting all of those different sound profiles and your sound will be a little weird. However, if you match your speakers by brand, you are going to hear that same profile. If you can't buy all one brand at once, try to match the speakers in pairs. For example, match the speakers that are in front of you, and then when you can, just start moving back.

Place Your Speakers Correctly

Another part of making sure that you are getting the best possible sound from your home theater speaker system is to make sure that you have put your speakers correctly. If you had a professional set up the sound system, then they probably made sure that everything is OK, but if you didn't, then you may not have put them in the right place. There are sound diagrams that you can find that will help you place your speakers correctly, but there are some tips that can help you. In general, you are wanting to aim for an equilateral triangle between your speakers and your ears. Those triangles have equal length sides and angles. So, if your chairs or couches are going to be 6 feet from the TV, then your speakers are going to need to be 6 feet from each other and angled so that the center of the seating area is the third point of the triangle.

About Me

A/V Equipment Technology Is Advancing Rapidly I still remember my family renting VHS tapes from my local video store every weekend on our family's Friday "movie night." Of course, we also had an additional video tape rewinder machine, because there was a rumor that the rewind mechanisms on VHS video players typically wore out quickly. Audio visual technology has advanced rapidly since those days, and I love staying on top of all of the new A/V technology out there. I have a home movie projector in my home theater, and I love teaching others about the benefits of these relatively affordable machines that provide a real "movie theater" experience right at home. I also stay on top of new television technology and am always eager to try out new TV tech. I plan to post many A/V tips and tricks on my new blog, so come back often!
